Kim lives with her husband Russell and their three dogs in Lawrence, Kansas. She is a 4th generation Lawrence, KS, native and lifetime resident. She has three grown children; two daughters and one son, and flock of grandchildren (five and counting). Kim is a member of Rev City Church in Lawrence, Kansas, and where her time and talents for the church include leading small Life Groups and serving wherever needs arise. Professionally, she has worked as a licensed insurance professional since 2000 and as a real estate agent since 2018. Together Kim and Russell run a small portfolio of apartment units and short-term rentals. They enjoy their dogs, weekends away, dinner theatre and time with family. Kim has served on non-profit boards such as that for the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate as well as with Warm Hearts, Laura Kriz charitable fund, and a local women's networking group. Kim is a big-picture thinker and a visionary. She sings boldly off-key, laughs at her own jokes and has an overall optimistic outlook on just about everything. One of her closest friends often jokes that she is the most cheesy person she knows and she is famous with her son-in-laws for her dad jokes, often receiving random jokes from them by text. As a child of teen parents and a teen mother herself, Kim has overcome many obstacles and, through the grace of the Lord, lives a life of success and not as a statistic.
