Everyone can benefit from this book men, women, children, friends, family, partners. Dr. Gowey teaches us how to heal from an abnormal pap but this book is really not limited to just women. When I read it I took home so many messages and felt empowered to clean up my diet, my lifestyle, my thoughts. I felt like I needed to do this, but because of her explanations I know why. Dr. Gowey is a Naturopathic Physician, Researcher, and Formulator. She founded the non-profit Naturopaths International in 2007, has been recognized for her service to community through various awards and recognitions, and has two for-profit companies she uses to create new medicines for patients. Her first book, Your Cervix (Just) Has a Cold is a compilation of her research on preventing and reversing cervical cancers/pre-cancers. There is very limited information for women regarding HPV and its effects on the female cervix. Almost every woman has or has been exposed to HPV, and as such, has experienced abnormal pap smears as diagnosed by their gynecologist. However, information is NOT being disseminated to women as to how to deal with HPV, treat it, and heal the cervix. Women are offered surgery or other invasive treatment options.
