Textul de pe ultima copertă
"Yeah, you rite! This girl writes about her love of New Orleans with true love and so much affection! She's a real 'Who Dat' who knows this truly unique community from the Audubon Zoo to Zulu's coconuts. It reminds me of so many reasons why we refused to let Katrina drive us away."
--Jerry Romig, New Orleans Saints announcer
"Everyone who crosses into the city limits should be required to buy a copy of Yat Wit on the spot because they'll never 'get it' about the workings of this little wonderland on the bayou without one."
--Bob "Oldie King" Walker, New Orleans disc jockey
"Yvonne Perret is like the French Quarter . . . smart, clever, and tells it like it is."
--Vince Vance, Vince Vance & the Valiants
"This funny lady covers everything from the Tooth Fairy leaving doubloons instead of cash . . . to the nuances of . . . living with roaches. I love this book."
--Port Arthur News
From the dilemma of deciding who gets the third beignet to dodging streetcars, this collection of humorous vignettes celebrates the quirks and perks of living in New Orleans. Included are life lessons learned from a crawfish boil, the proper etiquette for eating a po-boy, and poaching ladders during parade season. Locals-and those who just love the city-will laugh out loud at these charming, clever essays.
A native New Orleanian, Yvonne Spear Perret is a retired educator. A former editor of New Orleans Wedding Guide, Perret has written for such publications as Disney FamilyFun, USA Today, the Christian Science Monitor, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Gambit, and New Orleans Magazine.
