Yarns

Autor Diane Gilpin, Sheila Greenwood
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 9 sep 2027
Rooted in the landscapes and traditions of Scotland, Yarns: Stories, Stitches & Projects is a celebration of craftsmanship and the places that inspire us.
Knitwear designers Di Gilpin and Sheila Greenwell guide you through joyful, accessible projects for beginners and exquisite pieces for experienced knitters, combining practical guidance on traditional Scottish knitting techniques with inspiring ideas and the stories behind the stitches. Different interpretations and colour variations for each pattern reveal how designs can be transformed through colour, shape, technique and materials, building confidence and skill and inspiring you to experiment and create designs of your own.
From the fresh beginnings of spring in the garden, through the bright sun-washed days of summer by the sea, to the rich, heathered colours of an autumn mountain, and the energy and modernity of the city in winter, each chapter is inspired by a landscape, a season and a different spirit of knitting.

Notă biografică

Di and Shelia are professional hand knitters, producing original designs and garments for everyone from haute couture designers to their own ready-to-wear line, as well as developing and selling yarn, running workshops, and collaborating with fashion houses. Di is the designer and Shelia is the technical whizz and you may have seen these roles reflected in Channel 4's hit show, Game of Wool.
