Thousands of years ago, one of the shrewdest economists, thinker and philosopher Chanakya, wrote a policy manual that helped groom Chandragupta Maurya to power. This treatise, called Chanakya Neeti, dealt with a variety of subjects, including war, strategy, international relations, fiscal policies and life in general.
