Will Lane's mother had just shared with him some exciting and yet disturbing news. He was going to be spending the summer with his grandparents. He loved to visit his grandparents, but he had never spent even one night with them. They lived 40 miles from him out in the country on a farm. Will had spent all nine years of his life right in the middle of the city. He did not know, and didn't want to know anything about the farm.
