Puertorrican professors Ely Rios and Ana Del Valle are working toward finding a local tree species which could be sustainably farmed for the production of bioplastics. At first, their results were frustrating. But then, a simple accident in the lab changes their focus. Their discovery, called Whisperings, allows them to see the past and prove or disprove much of what has been written as historical "facts." As they develop and test their process, they must decide -- will their discovery save the world or cause ecological destruction?
