Thirty-seven years after losing each other, Miguel and Laura meet again by chance in Islamorada.
What begins as a blurred memory slowly becomes the discovery of a love that once belonged to another life.
But Miguel and Laura are no longer fifteen. Now they come to this reunion carrying children, divorces, wounds, mistakes, and questions they never fully answered.
As they get to know each other again, they begin to look honestly at their past failures: work that took up too much space, small details they stopped caring for, unspoken resentment, misplaced expectations, and the habit of trying to solve everything in their own strength.
Their return to God and a new opportunity to love confront them with a difficult truth: changing partners does not automatically change the patterns we carry within us.
What happens when the heart returns to the place where it once loved, only to discover that now it must learn to love again?
Where the Heart Returns is a story of second chances, faith, forgiveness, healing, and learning to love differently.
