When undead arbiter Miles Watson and his loyal vampire dog, Church, are sent to investigate a gang who has attacked several properties and businesses that belong to different vampire Houses--both great and minor--each clue only seems to raise more questions than answers about who is behind the attacks and what their goals are. And after one of the great vampire houses is attacked head-on and its first lady is kidnapped, the stakes suddenly reach a whole new level. Miles better hope he can find the missing vampiress first, before her allies tear the country apart looking for her.
