When Cecilia, 43, returns to Stockholm's Old Town to clear her dead mother's flat, the plan is simple. Sort, sell, go home to her daughter. But in the oldest part of the city something is not quite right. At night, church bells can be heard from the south, down among the alleys, where no church stands. Her mother has left everything behind in perfect order. Almost everything.
And slowly, the summer Cecilia has never been able to remember, the summer she was eight, begins to answer when she calls.
When the Bells Ring Wrong is a ghost story about inheritance, and about the oldest part of a city everyone believes they know.
