I was inspired to write this book because I have been amazed at the power of names and the positive or negative effect they have. I have always been curious about why people choose names and what stories are behind them. Parents name their children to honor relatives, heroes, religious figures, ideas and for many other reasons. They often suggest what parents would like their children to become. So, the next time you hear someone's name, you might want to ask him or her why it was selected.
