Jeanine is a sophisticated, Yale-bound high school graduate whose life is altered when she puts a family curse on herself at her graduation party. She transforms into an aquatic reptile-like monster when water touches her. Reacting with shock and horror, her family exiles her to a secluded northern Wisconsin lake cabin owned by her grandpa. Struggling to adjust to her new life, Jeanine falls for her grieving neighbor, Mark, whose sister was found brutally killed near the lake.
