Watch It Shine: El Paisano Press

Autor Owen Temple
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 25 sep 2026

For thirty years, Owen Temple has written songs about the small towns, eccentric characters, and back roads of Texas and the American interior.

Watch It Shine gathers another side of that same practice: the drawings and watercolors he's made along the way - a roadside motel, a grandfather's timepiece, beer joints, ancient Hill Country oaks - paired with the lyrics they belong to. The paintings range wider than Texas - waterfalls in Washington, lakeshores in Vermont, the canyons of Zion, the waterways of Louisiana - moments and places that stay with you forever.

A short opening essay frames drawing as a way of paying attention. The rest is what attention found: ordinary things, looked at long enough to begin to shine.

Notă biografică

Owen Temple is a Texas-based songwriter and visual artist whose creative work centers on place, time, and human connection. His songs have earned wide respect for their lyrical craftsmanship and emotional resonance, and his paintings grow from the same impulse - to notice what often goes unseen.Temple's watercolors are not illustrations of his songs, but parallel expressions. They emerge from travel, quiet mornings, borrowed rooms, rivers, highways, and moments of pause. Each painting is an act of attention, a way of honoring where he has been and what he has witnessed. He lives with his family in Texas and continues to write, paint, and perform with the belief that art can widen perspective and invite a deeper sense of gratitude for the world we move through.
