Vuslat: May We Meet In The Silence Of Our Souls

Contribuţii de Lewis Hide, Andrew Graham-Dixon, Chus Martínez
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 5 aug 2026
The first book on multi-media artist Vuslat and her concept of emanet, which means "trust' in Turkish.
Vuslat (born in Istanbul; lives and works in Los Angeles) is a multidisciplinary artist working across drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and installation. Her practice explores themes of trust, interconnectedness, memory, and collective consciousness, drawing on mythological narratives, nature–culture relations, and philosophical inquiry.

May We Meet In The Silence Of Our Souls is the first book on Vuslat, bringing together over three years of artistic research and practice on her concept of emanet—a layered notion of trust, care, guardianship, and entrusted knowledge. Bringing together image, text, and material thinking, the book invites the reader into a contemplative space.

Through a dialogue between three exhibitions developed around this concept, the publication offers a comprehensive introduction to her multifaceted practice. It features essays by Rüstem Aslan, Paolo Colombo, Andrew Graham-Dixon, and Chus Martínez, as well as a conversation between Lewis Hyde and the artist.
