In Richard Kostelanetz's Vertical Stories a pair of narratives, each with its own typeface, are run over several successive pages in continuous vertical lines, with new narratives taking the place of previous ones whose length has expired, all in Kostelanetz's continuing contribution to the nexus of avant-garde fiction and book-art.
