The closing novel of a frontier saga, in which grief has driven a husband and wife apart and an Amish community offers an unexpected way back. Historical fiction of loss, forgiveness and the long road home.
They Survived the War. The Peace Nearly Broke Them.
Life for Sam and Laura changed beyond recognition when their children succumbed to illness. The tragedy drove them apart, and it's hard to imagine what could ever bring them back together. Sam, at the least, will finally have to overcome the ghosts of his past and become the man he was meant to be.
Laura carries more than grief. Betrayal, resentment and abandonment took root the day Sam left, and enduring them may ask more strength than she has ever needed.
Sam returns to his Missouri home town, where old friends and new ones wait. Struggling to live free of violence, he finds unexpected solace in a nearby Amish community whose hospitality lets him see himself, and the world, in a new light. Whether the same new eyes can find their way back to Laura is the question neither of them can answer yet.
Vengeance Is Mine is the final book in the Sam and Laura series, for readers who love frontier sagas, marriages tested by grief and redemption earned the hard way. Perfect for fans of John Jakes, Jeff Shaara and Ken Follett.
