A knowledge based workbook for health and social care staff working in dementia care, both adult care settings and domiciliary care. This training workbook will give you a general understanding of dementia; the diseases and conditions that can lead to dementia, the parts of the brain that are affected by dementia and how to recognise the wide range of symptoms. There are 4 learning outcomes: 1. Describe the common types of dementia. 2. Identify causes and symptoms of different types of dementia. 3. Understand brain structure and the different parts of the brain affected by dementia. 4.Understand how changes to the brain impact on how a person with dementia functions.
