Mikey Donahue isn't having an easy time in Seattle. Ever since he moved there, he's felt like a benchwarmer in life, and he's convinced his baseball dreams are on hold forever when he joins the struggling Salmon Bay Sluggers . . .

Until he meets Scout, a stray Border Collie mix with one floppy ear and sharp instincts. She's been watching Mikey's practices from the sidelines--and she even joins the fun by fetching baseballs for the team!

Now, the Sluggers have a new mascot that helps boost the team's morale and Mikey's confidence. But will Scout be enough to help the team turn things around and win?
