Under the Stars

From astrotourism expert Stephanie Vermillion comes the first illustrated travel book spotlighting the most magical dark-sky destinations and experiences in North America
Stargazing: How to Explore the Night Sky in North America is the first illustrated travel companion dedicated to finding the best nocturnal destinations and experiences of a lifetime. If you’ve ever wondered where and what time of year is best to witness the night sky at its most magnificent from solar and lunar eclipses, meteor showers, constellations, planet parades, aurora borealis, and so much more, look no further. Few books provide a guide to the world of astrotourism, allowing Stargazing to fill this market gap, particularly for stargazing hot spots in North America, where the trend is most widespread. The existing illustrated night-sky books are either heavy in astronomy or focused on the craft of astrophotography, while Stargazing will be written for astrotourists by an astrotourist.
Travel journalist, photographer, and longtime stargazing enthusiast, Stephanie Vermillion, uses her firsthand astrotourism knowledge and travel-writing expertise to help readers-particularly adventure travelers, star enthusiasts/dark-sky advocates, and seniors-plan their own night-sky adventures across the continent. Packed with her own gorgeous photography, including astrophotography and daytime imagery, this book will bring these incredible once-in-a-lifetime experiences and destinations to life.
