Nicht nur in der Politik wird argumentiert - auch im alltäglichen Leben wird von Überzeugungsmechanismen Gebrauch gemacht. In einem Diskurs werden Gründe angeführt und verteidigt, die das Gegenüber zu der Überzeugung bringen sollen, die man selbst hat. Dieses Werk votiert dafür, dass es sich bei dem christlichen Glauben um eine Position handelt, für die es Gründe gibt, die nicht nur innerhalb einer Religionsgemeinschaft, sondern auch gegenüber Gesprächspartnern anderer Weltanschauungen oder aus dem Spektrum anderer Wissenschaften kommuniziert und plausibilisiert werden können. Die Studie verfolgt einen primär kommunikationstheoretisch-praktischen Zugang. So wird Apologetik von säkularer Seite mit der Diskurstheorie nach Habermas sowie der Sprechakttheorie (Austin/Searle) und von theologischer Seite mit dem Leitbegriff der Kommunikation des Evangeliums ins Gespräch gebracht. Diese interdisziplinär verfasste Arbeit bietet ein Plädoyer für eine interkulturell ausgerichtete, zeitgemäße Apologetik.

Argumentation is not only used in politics - persuasion mechanisms are also used in everyday life. In discourse, reasons are cited and defended to persuade the other party to the conviction that one holds oneself. This work argues that the Christian faith is a position for which reasons can be communicated and made plausible not only within a religious community but also to interlocutors of other worldviews or from the spectrum of different sciences. The study takes a primarily communication-theoretical-practical approach, bringing apologetics into conversation with discourse theory (Habermas) and speech act theory (Austin/Searle) from the secular side and the guiding concept of gospel communication from the theological side. This interdisciplinary work offers a plea for interculturally oriented, contemporary apologetics.
