'Today I am going to sit on your desk and knock stuff off. Try and stop me.' So begins Jeffrey Brown's utterly charming ode to the independent personalities, inquisitive natures, cleanliness, stubbornness, and displays of affection that cats deign to share with their human guardians. This delightful cartoon book serves both as an inspiration in the way a cat never shies from taking agency in any situation - and a cautionary tale in what happens when someone or something is free to rampage around and leave chaos in their wake. Most of all, it's a hilarious reminder of why so many of us identify as cat lovers, making it a perfect gift for the cat lover in your life.
