Truth and Reconciliation: The Great Journey of the Creators of Halo
Autor Marty O’Donnell Cu Michael Jaymes Cuvânt înainte de Jaime Griesemeren Limba Engleză Hardback – 25 mar 2027
Marty O’Donnell dreamed of becoming a rock star. Instead, he ended up composing the iconic music for one of the most successful video games of all time, Halo.
As Bungie’s audio director and composer, Marty shaped the music for all five original Halo games. His scores became the soundtrack of a generation, woven into the childhood memories of millions of fans around the world.
Then, in 2014, he was abruptly and unceremoniously fired.
This is the unflinching inside story of Bungie’s meteoric rise and its slow, painful decline. It reveals how the company gradually abandoned the very creative talents who built its success, including Marty himself. Through personal experience and rare behind-the-scenes accounts, the book explores the inevitable tension between art and commerce: Why do corporations so often discard the very things that made them beloved? And how does an individual creative soul fight back against the slow erosion of passion by profit?
Raw, honest, and deeply human, this memoir is both a love letter to the creative process and a cautionary tale about what happens when business forgets its soul.
