After helping save the city of Annis from an attack by Valen Dreckmoore, Artis is critically injured and loses his memory. Fleeing to the Nomad Badlands, he leaves Khellaran and his beloved Sorceress Tarra alone to face a new rising threat to Kohr. Meanwhile, Darconnen finally captures Princess Reena, and must return her to the Black Citadel where Trydus attempts to cure her of the madness caused by the Sword of Melkarick. As the final battle with Valen looms, the seven Undying Dragons combine their effort in a plot to destroy the Blade Masters once and for all. With attacks coming in from several fronts, Khellaran is forced to make tough decisions that could cost everyone their lives.
