Using examples from all over the world, Klaus Humpert presents different types of human movement as well as the optimisation of walking trails, which can be read in visible traces through cities andcountrysides. These trails give information on the unconscious psychological rules for human movement in contrast to rational city planning. Thus, the authors thesis is also a plea for a strongly human-oriented landscape and city planning.
