French Bulldog Mickey is the perfect adoptee for Eastern Gate Farm. He is devoted, humorous, loving, and generally hard-working, so it is no surprise that he recognizes the pride that led to his big mistake in book 1, Mickey's Mistake: Off the Straight and Narrow Path. Sadly, now in book 2, he is having nightmares about the forest creatures that scared him while he was lost in the woods. They are all over him-including in his nose, ears, and eyes-not to mention crawling on his back and dropping mushy gunk from the sky. As he reflects on his time lost in the forest he is horrified, and fear controls him. He withdraws, causing his friends and family great concern; therefore, they consult Shalom, a neighbor who is an expert in fear control.
