Among a tapestry of unique and seemingly unconnected stories, the Triumvirate's foundations are built. Three heroes rise to the forefront of the struggle: the Emperor, whose war of magic destruction and unchecked conquest have made the age of peace he sought unattainable; the Assassin, a madman with a sacred blade, seeking to teach every lord and lady humility with the deaths of their friends; and the Commoner, a poor, homeless girl who seeks judgement upon the man who killed her family, even as she embraces a life of addiction and malign action.
