For Michael, a kindhearted journalism student, something about White Deer entices him. Befriending an unlikely group-a bubbly waitress hiding a tortured past, an addict mother and her teenage son, a hardened drug dealer with a reputation for violence-Michael struggles for survival while trying to stop the carnage.
