There Is Room: Architecture of Kwong Von Glinow
Editat de Lap Chi Kwong, Alison Von Glinowen Limba Engleză Paperback – 27 noi 2026
Kwong Von Glinow’s work spans residential, civic, and cultural projects, and has been widely recognized for inventive spatial typologies, rigorous model-based design processes, and a deep engagement with the architectural fabric of Chicago.
The book captures Kwong Von Glinow’s work since 2017 through models, drawings, construction photography, narrative texts, and essays. Structured across four chapters, it documents forty-one of their designs. Some 250 images and a sequence that moves from conceptual models to built work offer a close reading of Kwong Von Glinow’s design approach: rigorous formal investigation, a commitment to spatial clarity, and a sensitivity to Chicago’s residential vernacular. Interspersed essays contextualize the firm’s work within broader architectural typologies, including an extended reflection on the “developer typologies” that shape Chicago’s built environment.
There Is Room is a portfolio of built and speculative work and a conceptual statement about space, domesticity, and architectural possibility in the contemporary city.
