In this futuristic novel I describe the life of an unfortunate young man who is sentenced to one of Earth's penal colonies in "the world below." He is cut off from all of his previous family, but meets with new acquaintances in City 11 who become close friends. His friendship with them all changes their fortune . . . and his own.
