Before he became a legend, he was a young man searching for his place in the world.
Long before the battles, the banners, and the name that would echo through history, Araysyn Blackheart was simply a son of Varkor with questions about the world beyond his mountains. Seeking understanding rather than glory, he leaves behind the only home he has known and begins a journey that will shape the man he is destined to become.
Across ancient roads and forgotten lands, Araysyn discovers a world held together not by crowns or armies, but by the choices of ordinary people. From the wisdom of the Charter to the sacrifices of the Second Legion, from the scholars who preserve history to the communities that rebuild after hardship, every encounter teaches him that true strength is not found in power, but in responsibility.
But the road does more than reveal the world. It reveals him.
As kingdoms struggle to preserve their traditions, as old conflicts leave lasting scars, and as the future of civilization rests on the shoulders of those willing to protect it, Araysyn must decide what kind of man he will become.
Before the wolf rises, there must first be the journey that creates him.
Before the battles that define him, there must be the lessons that forge him.
Before the legend, there was the man.
Before the Wolf is the origin story of Araysyn Durnhal and the beginning of the path that leads into The Wolf of War, the first chapter of the Moonbound Saga.
