Spring has arrived in Waffleville, and Maple Wafflehoffer can't wait to visit her aunt and uncle's farm!
After a hearty lunch of waffles, Maple is eager to head outside and explore. But before she goes, her uncle gives her one important warning: stay away from the brown mare and her new foal.
For most children, that might be enough.
But Maple is curious. Very curious.
Unable to resist, Maple sets off across the farm in search of the foal. Along the way, she meets a collection of farm animals, but none of them seem very helpful in pointing her in the right direction.
Then Maple meets the farmer's clever sheepdog.
At last, she's found someone who can help!
But when Maple finally discovers the mare and her foal, her exciting adventure suddenly doesn't seem like such a good idea. Maple begins to understand that her uncle's warning wasn't meant to spoil her fun. It was meant to keep her safe.
Has Maple's curiosity gotten her into more trouble than she can handle?
With a few surprises still waiting around the farm, Maple may discover something important about herself before her adventure is over.
