The Ten Commandments for Married Couples

For whoever cleaves to his wife with a sound bond of marital love is like the one who cleaves to God, and he and God become one spirit. Oh, how great is this great Mystery, through which a human being can draw nearer to God and be united with Him in spirit! We thank You, O our good God, because You have granted us this great Mystery, through which we can draw near to You, approach You, and ultimately reach You and be united with You.

Therefore, O husband, care for your wife's feelings, be compassionate toward her, and gladden her heart, so that you may obtain the Lord's pleasure and be united with Him now and forever!

And you, O wife, obey and submit to your husband in the Lord, understand his feelings with all your heart, so that you may draw nearer to your heavenly Bridegroom and be united with Him here and in the kingdom!
