The Silent Girls
Autor Marion Todden Limba Engleză Paperback – mai 2027
Detective Sandy Gray's fresh start in the Scottish Highlands is shattered during her first week, when she must solve a terrible murder. Kate was one of their own - part of the mountain rescue team Sandy is leading and a young mother. And someone has taken her eighteen-month-old daughter, Isla.
As Sandy and her team launch a desperate search across the frozen landscape, she knows they are working against time. Then Sandy uncovers a note left with Kate's body: This is the first of the silent girls to die. She will not be the last. The words send cold shivers through Sandy. Who are the silent girls, and why does someone want them dead?
When a second woman is discovered dead in the freezing river, bearing the same note, Sandy realises she's hunting a murderer with a list - but why? With Isla still missing, the weather closing in and the mystery of why her own father turned his back on these hills haunting her, Sandy must push herself harder than ever to unravel a web of secrets in time. Can she rescue Isla and stop the killer before another silent girl is lost?
A gripping, heart-pounding and totally unputdownable Scottish crime thriller that will have you turning pages long into the night. Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, J M Dalgleish and Angela Marsons.

A native of Dundee, Marion Todd studied music and worked for many years as a piano teacher and jobbing accompanist. A spell as a hotel lounge pianist provided rich fodder for her writing, and she began experimenting with a variety of genres. Early success saw her winning first prize in the Family Circle Magazine Short Story for Children national competition, and she followed this up by writing short stories and articles for her local newspaper.
Marion has also worked as a college lecturer, plantswoman and candle-maker, and is now a full-time writer. She is the author of the DI Clare Mackay series of crime fiction novels set in St Andrews. The first of these, See Them Run, was shortlisted for the Bloody Scotland Scottish Crime Debut Novel of the Year 2020.
Marion lives in North East Fife, overlooking the magnificent River Tay. When she's not writing she can be found tussling with her jungle-like garden and walking her daughter's unruly but lovable dog.
