Dr. Paula Jackson started off her career as a concert pianist and studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music. Her interest in education led her to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge where she completed an MSc in International and Comparative Education and an MPhil in Education respectively. She later completed her PhD in Education at the Institute of Education at the University of London. Dr. Jackson has worked as a consultant and researcher for NGOs, multilateral institutions such as the World Bank and the Department for International Development in the UK. She has initiated a number of social ventures aimed at empowering children and women through creativity and cooking (another great passion). In 2013, she founded the Ed-tech start-up, Kiddify, a video platform for kids by kids to share their skills and knowledge with each other. She is passionate about the power of picture books to shape identities. Dr. Jackson wants to create books that empower children, that tell stories that reflect the world's diversity, and that make readers think about their connection to others.
