Brian Michael Walsh, New York City's star homicide detective, is just about to retire when the chief of detectives dumps a particularly brutal homicide onto his desk. Detective Walsh and his squad begin their investigation and find themselves fighting an opponent so diabolical that Walsh soon finds his life and the lives of his detectives at risk.
