About the book. A recently discharge Green Beret is sought out; a former sniper, a man capable of carrying out subversive acts who finds himself unemployed and near broke. A proposition is presented. The monies are beyond his wildest dreams, not so the mission. A former president is assassinated. Selected senators and congressional representatives soon follow. The nation's leaders become concerned for their own lives as the seemingly unwarranted attacks spread from one coast to the other. An all out nationwide search is on for the elusive killer. A media blitz and a significant reward is offered. The assassin is befriended by an unknowing waitress. Fascinated by the killer's success she questions her own meaningless life. He includes her in his plans. They establish a personal bond until unwanted liberties end their rapport. Fuming with contempt she seeks restitution. His life begins to unravel.
