The Pheasant was the code name for a very secret person in England, during WWII. He was to be the commander of the British Resistance Movement if the Germans invaded. He had kept this secret all his life, until his grandson asked the question "What did you do in the war, Granddad?" Was this now the time to tell his story? As he had all day to entertain Simon, he decided that it might keep him amused until his mother came to collect him.
