For many years I stayed away from family keeping a safe distance emotionally and only appearing briefly at family events. My memories of childhood, my inability to make healthy connections in relationships set me up for failure. When a little at a time I began to explore the past and take a risk on rebuilding relationships with my family my life began to change in a beautiful way.
