The Night Child is a vampire story based in the 1800s. Young James Ailing is a vampeel-his father was a vampire and his mother is human. He battles the usual adolescent problems of peer acceptance and bullying in school, but he also has to do battle with far worse enemies than the school bully. Along the way, James Ailing finds himself in love with a beautiful girl, Anna Davis. Their connection puts her into harm's way, but she turns out to be an invaluable ally in his fight. Between James, Anna, and some very confused adults, things are very interesting.
