The Multi-Hyphenate Dilemma: Flat Weave Books

Autor Kim Wensel
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 13 oct 2026
We love stories about the pivot. We almost never hear the story that comes before it.
You know the point: the one where you got what you wanted, but it no longer feels like it fits. The Multi-Hyphenate Dilemma meets you there--in the questioning.
Who am I without this work? Is it too late? What if I don't know what I want?
Part memoir and part exploration of modern work, Kim Wensel shares the honest story of a career that never followed a straight line. Over two decades, she collected titles, skills, and opportunities that worked--until they didn't. Like many highly capable women, she kept believing all that range would eventually add up to one clear direction.
Through personal stories and cultural observations, Kim explores why being good at many things can make choosing harder, why we stay in work we've already outgrown, and why the pressure to make our careers legible can keep us searching for certainty that may never come.
The Multi-Hyphenate Dilemma offers a different way to think about what comes next.
If you've been trying to strategize your way out of the messy middle, this book will help you acknowledge what you've outgrown, move forward without having every answer, and trust yourself more than the public opinion on your life.
