In this book, the characters, Jordan, Marie, Katie, Jake, Brandon, Sabrina, Nick and Emily are collaborating on a drama play directed by Mrs. Nancy. As the play is almost over, Jordan and Marie take over the last scene of the night. Just before they could end the play, the power goes off in the auditorium. Once the lights turn back on, Jordan and Marie were the only ones left in the building. They go outside to see if anyone is out there but everyone in the entire neighborhood is gone. All of the streets, cars and houses are vacant.
