The definitive guide to the lost, lamented titans of American recordings studios.

Now, for the first time, comprehensive technical details, gear lists, dimensions, and more can be found in The Lost Spaces, architect-turned-producer Richard Adlam's unprecedented guide to the most significant lost studios in the United States. From Atlantic Studios to Universal, Adlam provides painstaking, meticulously reconstructed diagrams and spec sheets accompanied by historical photos, anecdotes, and lists of the key albums and performers recorded in each space. Whether you're an engineer, musician, designer, or all-around music geek, this is a one-of-a-kind resource preserving an essential slice of pop-music history.

Recenzii

A must have book for anyone interested in recording music. It's great to read about and see the spaces that so many classic songs were created in. Pre DAW's , real rooms , real mixing desks , tape machines, microphones and of course people. First class.
Simultaneously a historical musical document, and inspiration to future record makers. I really love seeing where and how classic artists and albums were recorded.
This is an amazing book charting the history of these incredible studios. The detail of the studios and equipment is incredible. This is a must have book!
