Brian Kowikchukwas raised in the Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk region, with roots that connect him to both worlds. He expresses truth, healing, and identity through his art, using creativity as a powerful tool for connection and change.
Having grown up in the foster care system, Brian understands the challenges many young people face. His lived experience fuels his passion for supporting children and youth as they navigate their own journeys, helping them discover hope, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Through murals, paintings, and community art classes, he creates spaces where healing and self-expression can flourish.
Working throughout the Inuvialuit Settlement Region, Brian is deeply committed to strengthening relationships and supporting the well-being of the inner child in others and himself. He believes art can help people reclaim their stories and take back space with confidence and pride. Brian currently lives in Inuvik, Northwest Territories.
