After the events of Emblem City, Jade has returned to the Citadel, completed her Studial examination, and is ready to take on the world as a full-fledged Kenari. She is sent away for the summer to aid in a relief mission, only to run into a face from her past she wasn't expecting. Things spiral out of control when the girl is kidnapped, presumably by people who seek to figure out what makes her special. She quickly finds out there is more to her kidnapping than she ever would have suspected. Jade struggles to land on her feet when her world turns upside down virtually overnight.
