It began in January 1988. Peter Kropp had decided to adopt an itinerant lifestyle, via fruit-picking throughout the three eastern states of Australia. Over the next twenty years, Peter would persevere with this largely unconventional lifestyle - a lifestyle that would from time to time take him beyond Australian and to New Zealand and Europe. The Itinerant Way started life as an autobiography, as Peter jotted handwritten notes during the course of his travels. But then he realised that the notes also provided something else: inspiration for novels. While The Itinerant Way is largely fictional - Peter has let his imagination run wild - everything is based on actual events and real people. This is the first in a two-book series.
