The Hendersons are modern day Tennessee Smokey Mountain hillbillies. Matriarch of the family, Virginia has a dream to become a Mary Kay cosmetics representative but they won't give her the job because she talks like a hick. Virginia takes elocution classes while her husband, Cletus, legitimizes his moonshine business and becomes wealthy. With their new found wealth, Virginia tries to improve the social status of her family. Will she be successful or will no amount of money and elocution fix the Hendersons?
