In this illustrated tale, a young black bird falls from his nest and makes his home on the ground, at the base of a great oak tree. Never having learned to fly, he spends his days looking up at the sky. Through courage and circumstance, he finds his wings while discovering that the first flight is often the hardest on a journey to reaching the stars.
