After a lost bet, ten-year-old Reggie Cooper ends up in the historical well of his hometown Stonebridge. There he discovers a door, and a door, in his opinion, can only lead to new adventures.
This new adventure, however, takes a dark turn when he realises he has ended up in the Afterlife. The Afterlife is not at all what Reggie expected it to be, and convinced that he hasn't died, he tries to find his way back to Stonebridge.
This doesn't appear to be easy. Both the Board of the Afterlife and a stranger called Mr Neverrenof have their own reasons for keeping Reggie from his goal.
Reggie has a decision to make. His escape from the Afterlife goes hand in hand with a huge sacrifice and it will be Reggie to decide everyone's future.
