The Forgotten Virtue
Autor Fr Lawrence Carneyen Limba Engleză Paperback – 20 oct 2026
That weapon is meekness.
Meekness is not weakness. Nor is it passivity. Rather, it is a fruit of charity, bound closely to humility. Meekness is a virtue powerful enough to win souls for Christ and restore peace to your troubled heart.
If you have struggled with ego, impatience, or the slow burn of resentment, this book was written for you. Through rich spiritual reflections, you will discover:
- What meekness truly is and what it is not (you will be surprised)
- Practical ways to overcome rash anger before it takes root
- The five degrees of meekness in those who will possess the land
- How meekness strengthens other virtues, including temperance and fortitude
- Five ways to practice devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus, our meek and humble Savior
You will discover how Our Lady, the living tabernacle, leads us into contemplation of the Holy Face and brings forth the virtue of meekness in her spiritual children.
Prayers for meekness are included throughout to help your soul find the stillness needed to hear God's voice clearly. When we keep His face ever before us, we begin to see every person we meet as a child of God and find the grace to forgive even the gravest offenses.
The world is desperate for an antidote to injustice. The Holy Face devotion is that antidote. Open this book and let it begin to work in you.

Notă biografică
Fr. Lawrence Carney was ordained for the Diocese of Wichita in 2007. From 2013 to 2022, he was chaplain of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, where he knew Sr. Wilhelmina. He has been a missionary priest in the streets of U.S. cities over the last decade, wearing the cassock and carrying a crucifix and a rosary in an effort to bring souls to the Catholic Church. In 2017, he began the League of St. Martin, a pious association of the faithful that prays for reverence, reparation, and reversion -- the chief goals being enrollment in the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face and the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary. He has authored six books, including The Secret of the Holy Face: The Devotion Destined to Save Society. He travels the world giving missions, conferences and retreats on the Holy Face of Jesus in the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face with a hope to have one million enrolled in the Confraternities of the Holy Face.
