When selected to be a dragon hatcher, Sam Westecher finds that his life has become a lot more complicated. From keeping it hidden from his friends and parents to teaching it dragon values, he learns that keeping a dragon is more than what he bargained for when the dragon who delivers the egg insists on becoming involved. The real challenge arises when the neighborhood gang discovers what he has and tries to take it for themselves.
